eISSN for Scholastica journals

ISSNs help your journal be indexed and uniquely-identified across the world of publications. Libraries and many indexing services use the ISSN rather than the journal name, and many require an ISSN to be included in their indexes. Google Scholar, for example, uses the ISSN in its metatag group to organize journal articles. (Note: an eISSN is simply a type of ISSN for electronic journals.)

If your journal is based in the US, you can download the eISSN application through the Library of Congress website: http://www.loc.gov/issn/basics/basics-brochure-eserials.html

This is great. I just checked it out and, unlike ISBNs, ISSNs are free, and I can list whoever I want as "publisher" (such as my small grad-student-run publishing company).
