Prosecutorial Independence and White Collar Crime

Stetson Law Review’s 2025 Symposium is scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2025, at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida. This Symposium focuses on current trends and controversies in both prosecutorial independence and white collar crime.
There will be approximately three to four panels at the Symposium and the Stetson Law Review will curate the panels pursuant to subject matter cohesiveness of the selected submissions. The Symposium will explore the critical role of prosecutors in our justice system. With significant power to make independent decisions, prosecutorial discretion is both impactful and highly controversial. This event will address state efforts to limit prosecutorial independence, public reactions, and the removal of prosecutors for their choices. In addition, the Symposium will examine the evolving landscape of white collar crime as it intersects with technology, regulation, and politics. Join us for insightful discussions led by leading experts as we tackle the complexities and ethical considerations of prosecutorial discretion and white collar crime.
